About the event

The topic of leadership effectiveness unites us as IO professionals as we seek to apply what we know to improve business results through various HR activities: selection, onboarding, performance management, strategic workforce planning, and the development of individual leaders and leadership teams. The construct of leadership is among the most debated topics in the social sciences (c.f., Avolio, Sosik, Jung & Berson, 2003). A quick Google Scholar search nets thousands of responses on what it means to be an effective leader and how leadership can be identified and grown. But what do we really know about leadership effectiveness that can guide our practice in today's complex business environment?
