Our executive team provides leadership to the organization and holds regular virtual meetings monthly. The team is composed of the President, VP of Membership, VP of Programs, VP of Marketing & CommunicationVP of Technology/Web Administrator, Treasurer, and Secretary/Historian.

Beth Melillo - President

Beth Melillo currently holds the role of Global Organizational Development Specialist at National Grid, supporting the business and HRBPs with resources related to organizational design and leadership.  She is also involved in a broader team with responsibility for embedding and delivering a differentiated employee value proposition.  Prior to her role at National Grid, she held an operational HR role at a construction subcontractor, and performed a variety of tasks across the employee life cycle - including everything from posting positions to exit interviews.  She also managed discrete projects toward improving company effectiveness including designing and establishing employee development plans, improving performance management, and developing a peer coaching pilot program.

 

Beth holds an MS in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Salem State University as well as a PHR certification.  She received a BA in English Language & Literature from Gordon College and began her career working with adults with developmental disabilities for six years.  Fun fact!  One of the nudges for Beth toward pursuing a career in IO was taking the O*Net assessment and receiving the result that she should be an IO Psychologist. 

Adam Smith - VP of Membership

Adam Smith currently works as an associate consultant with Kincentric, a talent services and advisory consulting practice. In his consulting work, he specializes in the areas of employee assessment, leadership selection and development, and talent strategy, working with clients to identify, select, and develop leaders at all levels of the organization. He also supports the development of the employee assessment strategy and technology for Kincentric. In addition to his consulting work, he serves as an adjunct faculty member at Wentworth Institute of Technology and an Instructor at Harvard University, teaching courses on the topics of Industrial/Organizational Psychology and statistics. His research interests include leadership and follower dynamics, workplace personality, and statistical methods. He has presented his research at numerous international conferences and also co-authored a book on the application and use of the statistics software SPSS.

Adam holds a B.A. degree from Mercer University in Psychology, an M.S. degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Saint Cloud State University, and a Ph.D. in the same field from Auburn University.

Ryan Stebbins - VP of Technology, Web Administrator

Ryan Stebbins is a Trainer with Intellezy, an E-Learning company which offers over 5000 engaging instructor-led video courses on a variety of technical products such as the Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite (Google Suite), and Adobe Suite. Ryan is working to expand Intellezy’s library of G Suite training courses as well as helping to head the company’s foray into the realm of Business Etiquette training. Before joining the team at Intellezy, Ryan held multiple Administrative roles at Salem State University; one within the School of Graduate Studies and another within the University’s Career Services department. These roles, as well as Ryan’s position as the head of Salem State’s Graduate Advisory Board, helped him to compliment his studies and maximize his ability to make important and long-lasting changes within the organization.

Ryan received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and subsequently was awarded an M.S. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Salem State University in Salem, MA.

Angela Ackerman - Treasurer

Angela Ackerman is a 20 year serial entrepreneur, wellness influencer, success psychologist, keynote, and thought leader with a Bachelor degree from Tufts University in Bio-Psychology and Post-grad degree from Yale University in Behavioral Economics. She runs the Social Butterfly- an event production lifestyle enterprise on a journey to empower, inspire and connect across socioeconomic and geographic boundaries. For the last decade Angela has also owned a business development consulting firm called The Business Doctor, Inc bringing neuroscience into the workplace, providing capital and consulting through a holistic approach to profit growth by closing the information and confidence gap for majority-women owned/operated businesses in transition specializing in the mind, body, beauty industries.
